Drowning an ever floating solitude

Mars-April 2020.

During the first two months of near-complete solitude in the most populated during the pandemic, I found new ways of occupying public spaces with a sense of intimate connection.

It was a surreal time, like performing a dance for an invisible audience. Dancing became my solace, my way of expressing both the vastness of it all and the profound emptiness that surrounded me. I wanted rewrite the way the street was filled by obedient bodies responding to social norms and construct with new and freer ways of moving and occupying space. It was a personal promise to not return to what was, and seed what could be.

On one occasion, I decided to bring a camera along to capture a day like that during the pandemic. The camera lens became my silent companion, witnessing the beauty and stillness of a world in still transition. As I moved through the city streets, my movements echoed a silent symphony of resilience and hope, a reminder that even in the midst of solitude, there is a quiet strength that binds us all together.
